“Cultural Fusion”, old work
This is an old work (2006?), that I created, originally, as a tattoo design. The original pencil sketch was a version of the traditional Virgin of Guadalupe with Asian influences. In this version, I used Mexican, American, and Asian styles to create the composition. For the color, this was a piece to experiment with different marker and color pencil techniques. When I did the color, I used different brands of markers / color pencils and tried new blending techniques. Basically, this work was a test work for future projects. However, although it does have issues due to the experimentation, I feel it looks pretty good for “test” work.
